May Awareness Rally

The people of Donegal speak  loudly without words!

15,000 people say we want and need improved cancer care for the people of Donegal.

“Equal Access for Equal Need”

May 06

They came in their thousands!

15 thousand to be exact, men, women, children, the healthy, the sick, the disabled.

An Awareness Rally organised in exactly 10 days.

They came in prams, wheelchairs, on crutches with the wind and rain beating the people of Donegal.

But they would not be beaten by the weather, cancer speaks louder than any storm that can be thrown at the people of Donegal.

They didn’t come to shout, full of negativity but drew on the positive energy that they use to get through each day. Cancer doesn’t give you or your family energy......it takes what you have!

It’s easy to shout and roar about whats wrong, it takes courage, dignity , restraint and respect to raise your concerns and issues in a silent, dignified and united manner.

Cancer has no respect for gender, creed or culture, it has no ears!

Slience so often  speaks louder than words!

“When the eagles are silent the parrots begin to jabber”

                                                                                                               Winston Churchill

“Silence is the element in which great things fashion themselves”                                                                                Thomas Carlyle

"Problems cannot be solved by thinking within the framework in which they were created."

Scientist Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has."

Anthropologist Margaret Mead (1901-1978)

We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature -- trees, flowers, grass -- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence. We need silence to be able to touch souls. Mother Teresa (1910-1997)
